Student Spotlight: Silva from Armenia

Exchange students jump into life in their host communities as active students, volunteers, and cultural ambassadors. This month, we’re spotlighting Silva, a FLEX program student from Armenia, who’s embraced life in her small town in Iowa.

While Silva has only been in Iowa for a little over a month, she has already become an active member of her community!

Silva is an active volunteer and enjoys helping her community. She started volunteering at her local church where she helps keep the nursery clean.

She also volunteered with a local environmental NGO that plants and cares for trees and at her local lion's club.

If that wasn’t enough, she also volunteered pulling thistles for Iowa Department of Natural heritage Foundation prairie.

Keep up the great work, Silva!
