Ni Made hails from a picturesque city in Indonesia known for its culinary delights and traditional musical instruments. She especially appreciates her town’s musical reputation and enjoys listening to traditional instruments. Raised in a small and simple family, Ni Made embraces her responsibilities with diligence, whether she is helping with household chores or cherishing moments spent with her parents, older brother, and extended family.

Described by friends as active, sociable, and ambitious, Ni Made thrives in leadership roles and enjoys participating in various competitions and extracurricular activities. "My experience in competing and in organizing has grown my sense of self-confidence and my sense of responsibility," she reflects. Her favorite activity is her work with children’s communication forum, and she is looking forward to seeking out similar opportunities to volunteer and give back in her host community!

With a strong sense of empathy and a desire to advocate for children's rights, Ni Made is looking to broaden her horizons during her exchange year, with the help of her new US host family and community!
