Akbar

About AKBAR

Akbar has a tight-knit family consisting of his parents, grandparents, and his older and younger brothers. On weekends, they ride bikes to a park or run in the mountains. Akbar has good friends, whom he never gets bored with! He appreciates the difference in their perspectives and shares they discuss “different topics like sports, science, technologies, and politics.” Besides lively discussions, they like to play soccer in the summer and ice skate in the winter.

Akbar describes himself as an “adaptable, open-minded, and independent person.” Akbar is interested in programming and computers and is interested in a career in this area. He enjoys math, and he even won a bronze medal at an international math competition and first place in a school IT competition. Besides academics, Akbar is involved with sports and likes to stay active. He likes swimming so much that he travels to a neighboring city in the summer since there isn’t a pool in his town. He also played soccer and wrestled in the past. In his free time, you can find him reading adventure books. Akbar is also learning German. Whenever possible, Akbar likes to spend time outside. He finds solace in nature and likes helping his parents around the garden. One of his favorite memories is eating berries on a riverbank he discovered during a bike ride.

Akbar is excited to share his culture and history with his host family. He is especially interested in cooking Kyrgyz traditional dishes and is looking forward to playing basketball in high school. Akbar is looking forward to joining your family and “learning more about your life, culture, and history!”
